The Canadian Media Guild (CMG) is commissioning a short video to promote our campaign to improve working conditions in factual TV production. The video will also promote our guide for workers in the industry, which will be launched in early May. The guide describes the industry and includes information on workers’ rights and tips for negotiating fair contracts as well as job titles and basic descriptions. We hope it will be used by workers and the people who hire them to create reasonable standards in the industry.
Our budget for the one- to two-minute video is $4,000 and we’d like the video to be produced within the next month. Does this sound like a project you’d like to take on? If so, please provide a brief content and treatment plan (300 words max), bio or CV of producer(s) and any crew, and technical specs (shooting format).
The deadline for proposals is Monday, April 20, 2015, 5 p.m. Please submit your proposal in pdf format to Karen Wirsig, CMG Organizer, at karen@cmg.ca .
