After considerable pressure from all unions at CBC/Radio-Canada, the corporation has “suspended” the employee survey.
Workers from across the country had raised many issues with the survey, and CMG worked with other unions at CBC to address these concerns.
Our unions met with management and told them we considered the survey unfair. We laid out all the problems with it, including method, repetition, and issues with the slant of the survey.
We stressed our concern that the corporation was going after our benefits, and the survey was their way to do it. We reminded management that our benefits were negotiated decades ago, and are a fundamental part of employees’ working conditions.
Management assured us this was not the intent of the survey, but decided to pull the survey at this time.
We will keep you updated on any new developments.
