CBC: Guild seeking a mobilization co-ordinator during contract talks

The Canadian Media Guild is looking for a full-time mobilization co-ordinator to develop and co-ordinate the union’s mobilization campaign at CBC while contract talks continue.

The position requires excellent organization, communication and inter-personal skills and the successful candidate must also be able to work independently. The co-ordinator will report to a small committee made up of members of the negotiating team, the CBC Branch Council and the Presidents’ Council. The job is similar to the one performed by Ken Dodd during the consolidation vote at the CBC in 2003 and will be fast-paced, challenging and very rewarding.

The person selected as co-ordinator will be expected to begin the job as soon as possible. The Guild will arrange for release from the person’s current job and will cover their basic salary and benefits. An overtime stipend will also be considered, if applicable. The position should last at least four months.

Please pass along this posting to anyone who may be interested. All candidates are asked to reply by end of business on Wednesday February 9 with a brief resume to [email protected]. For more information, please contact Arnold Amber, CBC Branch President at 416-205-7847.
