Guild members will be receiving a little extra in their pre- or post-Christmas pay cheque. The CBC is attempting to compensate for missed meal allowance payments dating back to the ratification of the current collective agreement in October 2005.

UPDATE: The CBC has informed the Guild that members of former Unit 2 will not receive their meal money compensation until January 4, 2007.

The Guild brought the problem to the attention of the Corporation several months ago. We will continue to work with management to make sure that employees get all of the meal allowance they are entitled to under the terms of the collective agreement.
