CMG committees – Be a change agent

The following CMG committees at CBC have openings. They deal with change in our workplace – or changing our union.

We need members to look at policies and bylaws presented to our membership, and to make sure they are in line with our governance.

We also need members to work on a national committee when major layoffs happen.

Apply by February 21, 5 p.m. EST

Please submit a separate application for each committee you would like to join using our online form.

Branch By-law and Policy Committee:  A precise and detailed Guild committee responsible for the review and upkeep of the Branch bylaws and ensuring they conform to the CMG and CWA Canada bylaws and constitutions.

National Joint Employment Planning Committee: When job cuts occur, this group deals with downsizing, including the layoff and recall procedure. This committee is only called upon after significant workforce adjustments (layoffs).

The CMG executive at CBC will select committee members, based on the applications.

If you are not selected for a committee, your application will be kept on file for future vacancies and sub-committee work. Your union needs you, and your experience.
