Your union at Shaw – and now Corus – would like to take this opportunity to salute the members who are leaving the Bargaining Unit in advance of the finalized merger with Corus. We thank you for your support and encouragement over the years. We will miss you, especially as your fellow union members are about to be moved physically into the Corus plant down at Dockside Dr.

We were finally given the opportunity to meet with the new members from Corus who are joining us.  We are still working out the details to see how they too can benefit from being a CMG member, and be protected by our Collective Agreement.  We are also working out how best to harmonize our CA with the different working conditions and policies currently in place at Corus. Throughout this transition, we are  here to ensure  your settlement into the new building goes smoothly, and like you, we look forward to working with our new Corus members to ensure they feel welcome in the CMG family.

As you get to know your new coworkers, please reassure them, the CMG is there for them, whether it’s strategizing on how to speak with a manager, gaining access to training, or anything else related to their lives at work.

To give everyone a chance to meet socially, we are inviting all CMG members, current and new, to an evening of drinks and snacks*, on Wednesday, November 30 at The Jason George (100 Front Street East) from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. 

As always, don’t hesitate to  share your input, we want to hear your ideas about how we can make this transition work for you. And please let your friends and colleagues at Shaw and now Corus know we are here for them as well.
