Your union met with APTN management on January 30 for our quarterly Joint Committee meeting to discuss the new ADP payroll system and “virtual time-card” process that the company is putting in place. Darcy Smith, APTN’s CFO was on hand to outline how the system will work and to answer our questions.
After reviewing the new payroll system, its privacy features and how it will be implemented – including scheduled training sessions for all
staff – your union executive and representatives are satisfied that the new system will eliminate many of the payroll mistakes that occurred in the past.
Two features to highlight:
– The new system is a more user-friendly way of capturing annual leave, overtime, job upgrades, sick time, Northern allowances, and other special compensation
– The system eliminates lengthy reconciliation periods, allowing you and your manager to make any necessary changes immediately every week
We are confident that the new payroll system will work better and reflect your weekly compensation in a way that is consistent with the collective agreement. If you have any questions about our meeting, please contact Terri Monture (terri@cmg.ca) or Jean Broughton, (jean@cmg.ca).
