We are proud to announce that the members of the new CMG CBC/Radio-Canada Branch Editorial Board have been selected. They are:
Kelly Crowe (Toronto)
Laura Glowacki (Winnipeg)
Nadia Jannif (Vancouver)
Mary Lynk (Halifax)
Jacques Poitras (Fredericton)
Belle Puri (Vancouver)
and Kim Trynacity (Edmonton) as our Branch Executive representative.
The call for candidates drew a great response with members applying from across the country. The selection committee was keen on assembling a team of members from a range of editorial positions, and that’s representative of the diverse regions we work in.
From shifting resources and the composition of our workforce, to new platforms, the evolution of artificial intelligence, and changes in legislation, our industry is undergoing major changes that are having direct impact on the work we do. Our members have often expressed concern over the impact of those changes. The Guild Editorial Board will consider those issues and, through discussions with members, support editorial content.
The Board’s mandate is to look at the developments affecting our editorial workforce, and provide an analysis that will inform our union’s executive and members on the effects of such changes on our work and on the services we provide.
The Board will report to the Branch Executive Committee.
Sincerely,
Jonathan Spence
