Want to get involved in activities of the Guild at CBC? Consider joining one of our national committees. Much of the work happens by conference call; in some cases there are in-person meetings, usually in Toronto. Committee members get paid time off from work to attend joint meetings with management and travel costs for members outside Toronto are covered. **The executive has a new policy for forming committees (http://www.cmg.ca/CBCbranchpoliciesMar11EN.pdf ). If you already sit on one of the committees, you need to apply again if you want to stay on**.
National grievance committee: handles grievances referred to the national level.

The Guild executive at CBC will make the final selection of members of each committee. The selection will be based on the content of your application. Please submit a separate application for each committee you would like to join to cbcbec@cmg.ca with the name of the committee in the subject line, and include:
– Your name and work location
– Details on why you are interested in joining the committee
– Your relevant experience
– The order of preference of the committees (if you apply to more than one).
The deadline for applications is 5 pm ET on May 3, 2011. If you are not selected for a committee at this time, your application will be kept on file for future vacancies and sub-committee work. Your union needs you! Thanks to all who participate in Guild committees.
