The Guild’s CBC Branch is seeking candidates to join the National Joint Employment Planning Committee.?There is currently one seat available.
CLARIFICATION: In bargaining, the union and management agreed that national joint committee members cannot sit on a local joint employment planning committee at the same time. If the member selected for the national committee sits on their local committee, they will be expected to step down from the local committee.
The role of the?national joint committee has changed under the new agreement. The national committee will now serve as an advisor to the local committees, which are charged with finding their own local solutions, to find a mutually agreeable solution if a local dispute arises. As well, the national committee will oversee regional and/or national redeployments or displacements, if required.
?
The candidate should have:
– prior joint employment planning committee experience
– good knowledge of the new Workforce Adjustment Article (46), and its processes and rules?as they would apply in a downsizing exercise.
?
If you are interested, please send an application by Tuesday June 16 at 5 pm ET to njepc@cmg.ca . People who have already applied need not reapply. Describe your experience and explain why you would like to join the committee.
