The CMG-CBC Branch held a virtual town hall on November 25, as part of our efforts to ensure our union is more diverse, inclusive and to fight systemic racism.
Participants shared experiences and exchanged ideas on the work that’s being done and what we still need to do to ensure real progress.
Our thanks to everyone for attending and sending questions. If you were unable to attend, here is the link.
Thank you to our panellists who took time from their already demanding lives to share their insight with CMG members at CBC:
Saïda Ouchaou-Ozarowski, Branch executive committee Diversity and Human Rights Director and CMG-CBC Co-chair for the Joint Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI) committee;
Debora Grant-Barkun, CMG Director of Human Rights and Equity
David Thurton, CMG member and CBC journalist
Larry Rousseau, Canadian Labour Congress Vice-President
CMG lawyer, Michael Thorburn
Kim Trynacity, CBC/Radio-Canada CMG Branch president, our panel
And many thanks to CMG members at CBC who worked on the Town Hall :
Last but not least, we appreciate the support of the CMG staff who worked on this initiative.
We plan to have more town halls to connect with members in the coming year.
