We have learned that 21 of our members have opted to take and been accepted for the enhanced Voluntary Severance Package being offered by Shaw/Corus Media in advance of the physical merger that will take place in September of this year.
We regret the departure of these 21 talented, skilled and experienced colleagues.
In the meantime, CMG continues to work with management to ensure working conditions for CMG members at Shaw/Corus Media remain consistent with the collective agreement, and members’ rights are respected. This includes negotiated hours of work and overtime, seniority, job security and progression through the salary grid, all of which are detailed and protected under our collective agreement, and cannot be changed arbitrarily, or waived by the company.
As we work through this transitional period, the CMG continues to ensure your working conditions remain a priority.
If you have questions or concerns, please contact your local president/vice-president, Craig Jasman (craig@jasman.ca), David Baker (davidbaker79@gmail.com) or your CMG staff rep Terri Monture (terri@cmg.ca).
