Dear members,

As stipulated in the agreement which led to the ratification of the CMG-CBC/Radio-Canada 2019-2024 collective agreement, our union contracted a firm to conduct an extensive compensation review of positions in maintenance and IT classifications.

The positions are those in the Broadcast Technology Career Structure, as well as Applications Support Specialist and Desktop Support Specialist.

The purpose of the review is to identify and make recommendations to correct any market condition deficits.

The Guild received the report several weeks ago and has reviewed the data.

The next step is for the Guild to present our position to CBC/Radio Canada management at the Corporate Steering Committee in late 2020.

As set out in the letter of agreement, any determination or action by the corporation as a result of the review is “subject to available funding.”

Due to the confidential nature of the report, it cannot be shared with individual members. The Guild will however, share an overview of the results and findings after the Corporate Steering Committee meeting.
