Guild president’s award presented to Glen Guerin of CBC Toronto

The first ever CBC Branch President’s Award for recognition of exceptional service to members of the Canadian Media Guild was?presented to Glen Guerin during a meeting of Guild leaders on November 5. Glen works at the CBC in Toronto.

“Glen has worked tirelessly on behalf of Guild members for many years and I am very pleased to recognize his contribution publicly,” says Marc-Philippe Laurin, president of the CBC Branch of the Guild. “No task is ever too big or too small for Glen. From designing and distributing posters, to organizing events, to outreach to members, he is always there for his colleagues and the union.”

Former Edmonton location president Steve Finkelman, who retired this year, and current Thunder Bay location unit president Shane Judge were also nominated by their colleagues for the award.

The President’s Award of Recognition will be presented every two years during the biannual meeting of CBC location unit presidents. The winner is selected?by a committee from among the members?nominated by their colleagues. This year, the selection committee was chaired by H?l?ne Dupr?-Espeut, who serves as the director for BC on the Guild’s CBC Branch executive council.

“On behalf of all members, I’d like to thank this year’s nominees for their service,” adds Laurin.
