Bargaining begins at APTN

Representatives from the Canadian Media Guild have begun negotiations with the Aboriginal Peoples Television Network, towards a renewal of the collective agreement for the editorial bargaining unit. The current agreement expired April 24, 2006.

During two days of meetings last week, the Guild and aptn management exchanged their respective bargaining objectives. There were also some productive discussions on key issues for Guild members at aptn, including: workload concerns; improving the performance review process; and the training/professional development needs of editorial staff.

The next round of bargaining has been scheduled for May 23 and 24 in Winnipeg. Prior to that session, the Guild will be consulting with members for more input on our bargaining objectives. Cllick here to view the objectives.
