Happy new year to all our coworkers! We hope you managed to start 2019 with a bang, we certainly did!
Last week was a busy and challenging one at the bargaining table. We continued to look for solutions to the rising number of temporary workers at the CBC. We also had discussions on clarifying policies on:
-the use of personal equipment for work and protection of employee privacy
-employees’ participation in outside activities
-ensuring that employees receive credit for their work
We also looked at finalizing agreements on provisions related to:
-parental leave
-foreign correspondents and out-of-country work
-well-being of employees
We are scheduled for another week of bargaining in mid-February, where we hope to begin discussions on compensation.
Until then, meetings will continue with management to resolve the remaining issues.
We are always happy to hear from you. Feel free to contact us using this link : http://www.cmg.ca/en/contact-our-cbc-bargaining-committee/
