The negotiating committees of the CMG and The Canadian Press will sit down next week with federally-appointed conciliator Jennifer Webster. We will be meeting from February 21st to 24th at the Federal Mediation and Conciliations Service office in Toronto. Before Webster was appointed, the two sides had planned to meet this week, but have agreed to cancel those dates in order to prepare.

“We’ll be spending the time in caucus, developing full proposals,” said Terry Pedwell, president of the CMG’s Canadian Press branch. “We hope management will come to the table next week ready to talk about solutions that make sense.”
