It has taken a while but collective bargaining is resuming at The Canadian Press today.
We are hopeful that work done during the winter and spring has paved the way for a more co-operative approach and we will be able to bring this round of negotiations to a conclusion.
It has been a difficult round, made even more difficult by the disruption caused to all our lives by COVID-19. And, while things may be getting back to normal in some areas, travel restrictions mean we will still be relying on our trusty friend Zoom for these negotiations.
Our bargaining team has been depleted by departures from staff but we have scheduled a tentative six days before the end of July. We will be keeping you informed about our progress.
