Steady progress at the CBC bargaining table

We met last week with CBC management and got down to work tackling issues that Canadian Media Guild (CMG) members and the Corporation have identified as priorities in this round of bargaining.

We worked to update parental leave provisions in our collective agreement to ensure they match the latest legislation that extends parental leave to 18 months.

We also agreed in principle on steps to boost diversity at the CBC and make our workplaces more inclusive.

Among other issues, we are continuing discussions on benefits for workers in Northern and isolated locations, and on hours of work.

The talks are scheduled to continue the week of October 22.

In the meantime, if you have anything you’d like to share with us, please send us a note at: http://www.cmg.ca/en/contact-our-cbc-bargaining-committee/
