You can cast your ballot in the ratification vote on our deal with Shaw Media today between 12 noon and 6 pm at St. Andrew’s Church.

Since the memorandum was signed, Shaw has announced that it plans to contribute 5% to all members’ pension savings beginning this year. This is what your bargaining committee had wanted from the beginning; last week we agreed to phasing in the 5% contribution over three years in an effort to reach a deal. We are puzzled by the timing of the employer’s change of heart, but not unhappy that Shaw has decided to do the right thing.

Your bargaining committee is recommending you accept the deal.

The results of the ratification vote will be announced on Wednesday.
