We’re heading for conciliation with Pagemasters

The Ontario Ministry of Labour has appointed Bruce Janisse as conciliation officer to help the Guild and Pagemasters North America achieve a first collective agreement. The Guild applied for conciliation earlier this month.

The request for conciliation, which was done with the knowledge of PMNA management, is a relatively common practice – particularly with first agreements. The conciliation officer serves as a neutral facilitator to help both sides overcome obstacles to reaching a deal that’s fair to everyone.

No dates have yet been set for our meetings with the conciliation officer. In the meantime, we’re continuing to meet with PMNA management to try to clear the decks as much as possible so we can get down to the most important and contentious elements of the deal.

As always, we’ll keep you posted on developments.
