I’ve worked in CBC Studios for the last 5 years as a Supervising Stagehand and Lighting Director. I’ve worked for the CBC for 8 years (3 years casual, 5 full-time) here in Toronto (25 years in the entertainment industry doing corporate, theatre, concerts, other live events in all aspects of the fields – lighting, audio, video, camera, staging, rigging, carpentry, pre-production, etc.)
Union Experience:
– Currently Chief Steward, Worker Co-Chair Health and Safety (Toronto), National Policy Health and Safety Committee Member, Bargaining Committee 2023-2024, Certified JHSC (Joint Health & Safety Committee) Worker Representative (training by the Ministry of Labour, Ontario)
– Former CUPE 831 Executive Committee Member; Steward (4 yrs), Recording Secretary (4 Years), Bargaining Committee (3 terms).
Union Goals
My goal is to champion rights for ALL workers here at CBC equally, to ensure fairness and equity for all members of our Collective, and help the membership become more informed of their rights and protections.
I have chosen to run for a second term because I feel that I have made some real progress in my last term for the membership on working conditions and helping members resolve issues in a timely manner. I feel like I’ve been able to represent members across the board, working in different fields and crafts, and have a clear understanding of how to best represent our members.
