Take a leadership role in the running of your union

The Canadian Media Guild is now accepting nominations for all positions on the major decision-making body, the National Executive Committee, as well as the executive council of each branch.

Nominations close at 5 pm ET on Tuesday October 16. Elections will be held November 13-15.

It is possible to hold positions at the branch and national level simultaneously, but you can’t hold two positions at the same level.

If you’re interested in running, click here to download the nomination form. It must be received with original signatures by 5 pm ET on October 16. It’s best to fax (416-591-7278) or e-mail (elizabeth@cmg.ca) your completed form, call us at 1-800-465-4149 or 416-591-5333 to confirm receipt, and then send the original forms via mail or courier.

These are the available positions on the National Executive Committee:

President
Vice-President
Secretary-Treasurer
Director, Education
Director, New Members
Director, Human Rights & Equity
Director, Small Branches
Director, Francophone Affairs

There are also three trustee positions available. CMG trustees review the union’s spending every year, make recommendations and report back to the membership. Trustees are not members of the national executive and do not attend NEC meetings.
