Participants at this spring’s Workers of Colour/Aboriginal Workers conference last May in Toronto talked about how manufacturing jobs are shifting to low-wage, high-exploitation areas of the world and what that means for workers and communities in Canada … and for workers and communities in the places where the jobs are going.

For instance, after Canada signed free trade agreements with the US and Mexico, manufacturing jobs moved south. But they only stay as long as Mexican workers don’t get too demanding.
