Il est rare qu\u2019autant de d\u00e9fis et de r\u00e9alisations surviennent en une p\u00e9riode de 12 mois, au niveau de la Guilde ou de tout autre syndicat.<\/p>\n<p>Pris dans leur ensemble, ils se r\u00e9sument ainsi : la n\u00e9gociation de nouvelles conventions collectives (Reuters, SRC\/CBC); un r\u00e9examen des salaires et une prolongation de convention collective \u00e0 la PC\/NTR, qui a r\u00e9tabli des augmentations salariales r\u00e9guli\u00e8res; et un r\u00e9examen lucratif des salaires \u00e0 l\u2019APTN.<\/p>\n<p>Ajoutez \u00e0 cela la cr\u00e9ation et la certification de deux nouvelles sous-sections \u00e0 SunTV (autrefois Toronto 1) et \u00e0 Alliance Atlantis Communications, qui donnaient suite \u00e0 l\u2019arriv\u00e9e de VisionTV dans la famille de la GCM \u00e0 la fin de l\u2019an dernier.   <\/p>\n<p>Cela suffirait \u00e0 faire le bonheur de la majorit\u00e9 des locaux syndicaux.  Mais \u00e0 la GCM, tout cela s\u2019est produit avant, pendant et apr\u00e8s l\u2019\u00e9v\u00e9nement qui a projet\u00e9 pendant deux mois notre syndicat \u00e0 l\u2019avant-sc\u00e8ne de la nation : le lock-out \u00e0 la SRC\/CBC.<\/p>\n<p>En discutant de ce lock-out, cette semaine, avec des journalistes qui pr\u00e9parent des articles de fin d\u2019ann\u00e9e, j\u2019ai \u00e9t\u00e9 frapp\u00e9e par l\u2019\u00e9normit\u00e9 de la collision  \u2013 une collision qui, comme dans presque tous les cas, aurait facilement pu \u00eatre \u00e9vit\u00e9e.  Songez-y : au milieu de l\u2019ann\u00e9e, la SRC\/CBC souffrait.  Elle avait perdu la couverture des Jeux olympiques de 2010 et de 2012.  Elle avait perdu le contrat de production de Newsworld International, qui s\u2019est estomp\u00e9 au cours de l\u2019\u00e9t\u00e9.  N\u00e9anmoins, pour une obscure raison, les dirigeants de la Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 se sont alors tourn\u00e9s contre leurs employ\u00e9s, et ont d\u00e9cid\u00e9 que le temps \u00e9tait venu d\u2019exiger d\u2019\u00e9normes concessions de leur part. En appariant cr\u00e9ativit\u00e9 et renouveau \u00e0 de nouveaux employ\u00e9s non permanents, la SRC\/CBC a antagonis\u00e9 ses propres travailleurs.  Puis, elle a verrouill\u00e9 ses portes \u00e0 00h01 le 15 ao\u00fbt. Bang. <\/p>\n<p>Devant un pareil coup de force brutal, les membres de la Guilde ont tout d\u2019abord r\u00e9agi avec stupeur et incr\u00e9dulit\u00e9. Toutefois, il s\u2019en est rapidement d\u00e9gag\u00e9 quelque chose de positif : un esprit collectif.  Un geste en inspirant un autre, en peu de temps les membres de la Guilde se sont retrouv\u00e9s partout : dans des autobus, en ligne, sur des balados, \u00e0 la porte des d\u00e9put\u00e9s, et ce dans tous les coins du pays.  Le piquetage a rev\u00eatu un nouveau sens.  Notre message consistait \u00e0 vouloir r\u00e9cup\u00e9rer la SRC\/CBC telle qu\u2019elle devrait \u00eatre. Il portait sur l\u2019importance d\u2019un emploi stable.  Nous avons pris la parole partout o\u00f9 nous pouvions constater un int\u00e9r\u00eat envers la Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 \u2013 depuis de petites agglom\u00e9rations \u00e9loign\u00e9es jusque dans la capitale du pays. <\/p>\n<p>Les membres de la SRC\/CBC ont re\u00e7u d\u2019\u00e9normes appuis de la part de leurs coll\u00e8gues des autres sous-sections de la GCM, des Travailleurs en communications d\u2019Am\u00e9rique et de plusieurs autres syndicats \u2013 grands et petits. Nous avons r\u00e9alis\u00e9 la port\u00e9e de notre appartenance au monde du travail.    <\/p>\n<p>Tout cela a port\u00e9 fruit.  Nous avons obtenu l\u2019appui du public envers une SRC\/CBC forte et le principe de l\u2019emploi s\u00e9curitaire. Les membres de la SRC\/CBC ont maintenant une convention collective unique qui remplace les trois d\u2019autrefois (une r\u00e9alisation en soi) et, en g\u00e9n\u00e9ral, tr\u00e8s peu de changements ont \u00e9t\u00e9 apport\u00e9s au statu quo tandis que certaines am\u00e9liorations ont \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9alis\u00e9es. Mais tout cela aurait parfaitement \u00e9t\u00e9 possible sans avoir recours \u00e0 un lock-out destructif. <\/p>\n<p>Il est clair que nous sommes encore \u00e0 tenter de nous en remettre.  Comme la plupart des exp\u00e9riences traumatisantes, tout cela nous semble maintenant un r\u00eave, et il sera difficile de l\u2019effacer compl\u00e8tement \u00e0 cause de la culture \u00ab d\u2019absence de responsabilit\u00e9 \u00bb qui pr\u00e9vaut au niveau de la direction de la Soci\u00e9t\u00e9.  Presque trois mois plus tard, personne n\u2019a encore \u00e9t\u00e9 tenu responsable de cet affrontement inutile.<\/p>\n<p>Il est cependant temps de nous en remettre.  Nous devons aider \u00e0 d\u00e9finir une nouvelle culture de travail, cette fois positive, \u00e0 la SRC\/CBC et dans les autres milieux de travail.  <\/p>\n<p>Nous devons pleinement int\u00e9grer les nouvelles sous-sections mises sur pied \u00e0 la GCM, et veiller \u00e0 ce que nos nouveaux membres poss\u00e8dent les outils n\u00e9cessaires pour travailler de fa\u00e7on coop\u00e9rative avec leurs employeurs en vue de r\u00e9aliser leurs objectifs respectifs. Nos dirigeants de la sous-section de la PC\/NTR ont fait la preuve qu\u2019il est possible de parvenir \u00e0 des solutions, m\u00eame lorsque l\u2019employeur fait face \u00e0 des difficult\u00e9s financi\u00e8res importantes, et de n\u00e9gocier une entente qui profite \u00e0 tout le monde.<\/p>\n<p>Nous devons continuer de lutter pour des carri\u00e8res et des emplois permanents  \u2013 \u00e0 la SRC\/CBC, \u00e0 TVOntario et partout au sein de notre industrie.  Nous devons r\u00e9sister \u00e0 l\u2019augmentation des charges de travail, \u00e0 l\u2019APTN comme ailleurs.  Nous devrons \u00eatre pr\u00e9sents pour d\u00e9fendre les gens, lorsque de nouveaux probl\u00e8mes surgiront.  <\/p>\n<p>Nous connaissons notre force, mais nous devons nous en servir avec sagesse et de fa\u00e7on strat\u00e9gique.  Les relations entre employ\u00e9s et employeurs n\u2019ont pas \u00e0 \u00eatre conflictuelles.  Cependant, pour que cette approche r\u00e9ussisse, il doit exister entre les deux parties une relation bas\u00e9e sur le respect mutuel.  <\/p>\n<p>Parall\u00e8lement, nous devrons satisfaire \u00e0 des attentes plus \u00e9lev\u00e9es, envers la GCM, de la part des membres qui s\u2019attendent \u00e0 ce que leur syndicat se fasse l\u2019\u00e9cho de leurs pr\u00e9occupations au cours de son \u00e9volution, et de gens de l\u2019ext\u00e9rieur de la Guilde qui attendront de nous un retour de l\u2019ascenseur lorsque leur propre syndicat fera face \u00e0 une crise.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pas facile de faire une r\u00e9trospective de cette ann\u00e9e.
