Bargaining at APTN – Volunteers needed -and- Membership meeting Dec. 1

First, a big thank you to everyone who attended our membership meeting last Sunday. It was important to hear your input, and to begin sharing ideas on our next steps as we get ready to negotiate our new collective agreement at APTN.

Everyone please save Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at 7:30 p.m. CST for our next meeting. We will discuss bargaining and general member concerns. A virtual meeting link will be sent to you closer to the date.

In the meantime, we need three volunteers who will be part of our bargaining committee to represent all members. Please let CMG staff rep Joël Tétreault (joel@cmg.ca( know by Dec. 3 if you are interested in serving on the committee or if you’d like to nominate someone you believe may be interested and / or may be a good candidate for the role.

If you are interested, here is what you need to know:

  • -We are looking for members who can advocate for their co-workers
  • -Training will be provided by the Guild
  • -For the most part, the Staff Representative will be the main spokesperson at the bargaining table in direct discussions with the Employer.
  • -Bargaining involves meeting with the Employer during work hours. At times, it may take place outside of that time.
  • -The Guild will cover any wages during work hours so there will be no loss of pay.
  • -Bargaining is expected to start early in the new year; our agreement is up for renewal in April 2022.

And a quick reminder to please be sure to complete the bargaining survey, which has now been extended to Dec. 3.
