Bargaining at Thomson Reuters: CMG members ratify the new contract

CMG members at Thomson Reuters voted overwhelmingly (100%) in favour of the agreement between the union and the employer that was signed April 25, 2022.

Our bargaining committee worked closely with members to achieve strong gains in this round of bargaining including 11.5% salary increases over the four years of the contract, important improvements for temporary employees such as sick leave and provisions for conversion to permanent status. We also successfully pushed back against efforts to introduce a co-pay model for benefits and a threat to our DB pensions.

The ratification vote ran May 20-24, 2022.

The new collective agreement will be available to all members on the CMG website and in print after it’s been updated and translated.
