Call for nominations: Positions on National and Branch executive committees

The Canadian Media Guild (CMG) has vacancies on our union’s National Executive Committee (NEC), as well as on our ZoomerMedia Branch executive committee and our Freelance Branch executive committee.

Nominations are now open for the following positions:

-Director, Francophone Issues, National Executive Committee – Open to all CMG members at all Branches

-Secretary-Treasurer, ZoomerMedia Branch – Open to members of the ZoomerMedia Branch

-Representative, Atlantic Canada, Freelance Branch – Open to members of the Freelance Branch. Members of the Freelance Branch are either CBC freelancers or members through an independent freelance membership. Must be living / working in Atlantic Canada.

The mandate for these roles ends with the current term on December 31, 2019.

All CMG members in good standing at the national level and at the specified branches are eligible to be nominated for these positions.

If you’re interested in running, or in nominating someone else, please click here to download the nomination form.  The candidate, nominator and two seconders must all be CMG members in good standing.

The deadline for receipt of completed application forms Monday, November 5, at 5 p.m. ET.

The dates for any necessary elections will be set following the close of nominations.

The Canadian Media Guild is comprised of over 5000 media workers at AFP, APTN, The Canadian Press and Pagemasters, CBC/Radio-Canada, CKOF, Thomson Reuters, TFO, TVO, Vice Media, and ZoomerMedia, among other media organizations.

We work across all available media platforms and we are linked to the larger labour movement through the Canadian component (CWA/SCA Canada) of our wider international union, the Communications Workers of America (CWA).
