CBC and CMG continue meetings to improve relationship
CBC/Radio-Canada and CMG have completed a second full week of meetings in support of an improved relationship between the parties.
The meetings, which included facilitator Warren Edmondson, were initiated by Executives of the CMG and the CBC/Radio-Canada and were the product of several joint discussions held between February and May.
During these two weeks, the parties reviewed each other’s interests around a number of contentious issues including temporary and contract employment. As a result of an agreement on the interpretation of collective agreement provisions on the engagement of temporary employees, several grievances have been resolved and the parties will be applying the terms of this agreement to current and future temporary employment situations. We will provide more details in the coming weeks.
We plan to continue our joint efforts to improve the relationship after a summer recess and have planned additional meeting dates in the Fall.
