CBC/Radio-Canada Collective Agreement Ratified

The CMG – CBC/RC bargaining team is pleased to announce that the tentative agreement has been ratified, meaning we now have a new collective agreement between the Canadian Media Guild and CBC- Radio Canada.

Over 2,700 members cast their votes with 89.4% in favour.  There were 2486 ‘yes’ votes and 295 ‘no’ votes, and so this new contract will be in effect from April 1, 2024 to March 31, 2027.  A record number of members participated, more than doubling the number of voters in the 2019 ratification.

We thank our members for the keen interest and diligence they displayed throughout this process.  Truly this has been a collective process.  Our union will continue to pursue a complaint at the Canada Industrial Relations Board, to ensure that all pertinent information was indeed properly disclosed during the course of negotiations, and we’ll keep you updated on that.

Please watch for an announcement regarding the final copy of the new collective agreement in the coming weeks.

CMG Bargaining Team at CBC/Radio-Canada,
