We’ve received many questions about when the new pay structure will be seen by our members. The 6% pay raise will begin on April 8, 2024, which will be paid on May 2, 2024 (which is part of our normal pay schedule).
CBC management has told us they are having problems organizing the lump sum payments. We know many of you were advised the lump sum payment would come within a few weeks. That is what management led us to believe during bargaining; we are equally frustrated at another example of feeling confused by what CBC leadership tells us. We are already having discussions about this issue.
It’s unclear exactly when the new temp benefits program will be completely up and running, but we know that management is currently working on the implementation. We are pushing them to get on this as soon as possible.
CMG continues to work with our legal representatives to pursue an official complaint at the Canada Industrial Relations Board, to ensure that proper disclosure of financials happened during active negotiations of this new deal. We will keep you apprised of any developments on that front.
We continue to work in unison with the other unions to ensure that our pension surplus payments are still on track, despite the further delays that management says are due to additional OSFI required timelines.
