CMG accepts the Indigenous Canada course challenge

As we approach the inaugural National Day of Truth and Reconciliation on September 30, 2021 CMG is taking a meaningful step toward encouraging members to understand important issues facing Canada’s Indigenous people.

CMG has accepted CBC’s Employee Resource Groups challenge to sponsor 20 union members to complete a popular studies course which examines Indigenous history and contemporary issues from Indigenous perspectives.

The online course from the University of Alberta is free, but you can register to receive a certificate after you complete the course. The cost of this is $60 dollars.

The first 20 CBC/CMG members to finish Indigenous Canada and present their registration to the CMG (info@cmg.ca) will be reimbursed for their certificate cost.

To learn more about the Indigenous Canada course and to register, visit the U of A course page. In support of First Nation, Métis and Inuit colleagues and members we encourage all members who are interested to take on this challenge and increase their knowledge and understanding.
