CMG reaches a tentative agreement with APTN

Our union has reached a tentative agreement with APTN after months of bargaining with the employer. This round of bargaining was open and collaborative, and we recognize APTN for hearing our concerns. As a result, we were able to make several improvements that members had identified as important.

The 4-year deal (click the link for the highlight sheet) includes the following key gains:

-1.5% wage increase in each of the first 2 years with a wage reopener clause in the last 2 years of the agreement; 3.5% cash payment in each of the first two years for those at top of scale.

-Improvements to some specific classifications

-Improvements in several overtime provisions including an enhanced rate

-Improvement to the Northern Allowance

-Improvement to the night shift premium

-Improvement to the call back rate

-Improvement to sick leave provisions

-Commitment to create an Alternate Work Arrangement request process

-And more

A membership meeting will be held via Teams (please click on that link to join the meeting) on Monday, September 26 at 6 p.m. CST to go over the agreement and answer members’ questions. An online ratification vote will be opened the next morning after the meeting and will run until Monday, October 3 at noon. If you’re unable to attend, feel free to reach out to any bargaining committee members with your questions prior to submitting your vote.

In solidarity,
