Our union has reached a tentative agreement with ZoomerMedia after two months of bargaining with the employer. This round of bargaining was open and collaborative, and we recognize Zoomer for hearing our concerns. As a result, we were able to make improvements that members have identified as important.
The 4-year deal includes the following key gains:
-8.5% wage increase over 4 years
-2 years less time to reach 4- and 5- weeks vacation respectively
-Ability to request work-from-home hybrid when Zoomer requests members’ return, with the ability to take a layoff if you want to work from home solely and the request is denied.
-Introduction of a Diversity and Inclusion Article
-Introduction of a Privacy Article
A membership meeting will be held via Zoom on Tuesday, Oct. 19 at 6 p.m. to go over the agreement and answer members’ questions. An online ratification vote will be open after the meeting and will run until Oct. 21 at noon.
