CMG to ensure members’ rights are respected in APTN layoffs

Dear CMG members at APTN,

We have learned that due to CTRC’s 3-year administrative renewal, APTN claims that they need to reorganize to remain financially viable and that CMG members will be facing layoffs.

Two members have been informed by the company that they are being laid off.

Please know that your fellow CMG members stand in solidarity with all of you. We know that layoffs always take a toll, not only on those who are directly affected but also on co-workers who remain employed.

Our union is working to ensure members’ rights are respected in accordance with our collective agreement.

APTN union members can connect with Staff Representative Joël Tétreault (joel@cmg.ca).

We are in contact with APTN management, obtaining more information about the situation and working to ensure members are treated fairly in this difficult time. We will keep you updated.

We are also inviting you to join us for a general meeting to discuss this further this upcoming Wednesday Nov. 1st at 6pm CST using the following link: https://teams.microsoft.com/l/meetup-join/19%3ameeting_YjAyYjdhMTktY2MyNC00NjI4LTgzOGUtMTc5ZjlkODMxMGM0%40thread.v2/0?context=%7b%22Tid%22%3a%22e472d4aa-a7f1-49fd-b6d5-9d99cdfacd4f%22%2c%22Oid%22%3a%2205fafbcd-1ff2-4a1a-9e81-efd84190d6a9%22%7d

In solidarity,

CMG APTN Branch Executive
