The newest unit of the Canadian Media Guild – Pagemasters North America ? was certified by the Ontario Labour Relations Board on July 15, 2010.

Launched in late 2009, Pagemasters is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Canadian Press providing a range of editorial production services to newspapers, from copy editing and headline writing to design and layout.

“We look forward to extending the relationship the Guild has with The Canadian Press into the new Pagemasters workplace, with the aim of improving working conditions for these employees,” said Terry Pedwell, Canadian Press branch president of the Canadian Media Guild.

The Guild will be meeting with members in the new bargaining unit soon to discuss the next steps.
