Guild members voted 98% yesterday in favour of the agreement reached last week with Shaw Media.
The deal includes improved salary scales, three new statutory holidays, chiropractic benefits, across-the-board wage increases totalling 5% over three years and a $300 lump-sum payment to each member of the bargaining unit. The Guild has informed management of the results of the vote and has asked that the retroactive wage increases and $300 lump sum be paid as soon as possible. Shaw management has told us they are aiming for the payments to be included in the July 15 pay.
