We have extended the deadline for applications for the new Associate Staff Representative position at the Canadian Media Guild. Consider joining an energetic, growing part of Canada’s media labour scene to work directly with members and help shape and define a newly created position.

The Associate Staff Representative will be located in our national office in Toronto and, under the guidance of senior staff, handle preliminary queries from CMG members concerning workplace issues. He/she shall be knowledgeable enough to answer simple questions directly and be able to determine whether an issue should be referred to someone else. Record-keeping is an important part of the job. We anticipate the successful candidate will develop and advance within the organization.

We are looking for someone who has:
? General experience as a union activist at some level and knowledge of contract language and how it works
? Knowledge of CMG collective agreements in particular would be an asset.
? Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing in both English and French.

This position is included in an agreement between CMG and its staff union. The compensation package includes an annual base salary of $55,000, benefits and a bilingual premium.
