Increasing understanding of Indigenous peoples’ histories and contemporary issues

As we approach Canada’s first National Day of Truth and Reconciliation, September 30, 2021, CMG is taking a step toward encouraging members to increase understanding of important issues facing Indigenous peoples.

The union encourages all interested members to consider taking a popular seminar on Indigenous histories and contemporary issues from Indigenous perspectives.

The online course at the University of Alberta is free, but the completion certificate is $60.

The first 20 CMG members to finish the Indigenous Canada course and present their registration to the CMG (info@cmg.ca) will be reimbursed the $60 fee.

To learn more about the course and to register, visit the U of A course page. In support of First Nation, Métis and Inuit colleagues and fellow union members, we encourage all CMG members who are interested to take this opportunity and increase their knowledge and understanding.
