Let’s mark April 10 at CBC: Real cuts – real consequences

With nearly 250 more job losses announced for this month, the total number of destructive job cuts since April 10 of last year at CBC and Radio-Canada sits at well over 1,100.

To show your support for your CBC and Radio-Canada co-workers and demonstrate your commitment to our work, please wear black clothing tomorrow, Friday, April 10.

Remember to share your thoughts and photos on social media. Post a picture related to the impact of the cuts on your Facebook page and at https://www.facebook.com/ChampionCBC.DefendonsSRC . Tweet with the hashtags #ChampionCBC and #DéfendonsSRC.

And as we fight for public broadcasting, we need the active help of friends, family, and supporters.

Please urge supporters to sign and share our petition to restore funding to CBC: https://actionnetwork.org/petitions/champion-cbc-defendons-src. We need as many signatures as possible before the federal budget is announced on April 21 so please act now!

We will know more about the latest cuts by mid-April. Please read our FAQ on workforce adjustment and contact the CMG office with any questions: info@cmg.ca or 416-591-5333 or 1-800-465-4149.
