Lise Lareau was presented with the CBC Branch President’s award at a Guild meeting on October 15 for her contributions to the Guild.
?Under your leadership, the membership in the Guild has doubled and the Guild has become a leader and a respected voice in the media industry,? said Marc-Philippe Laurin, president of the Guild’s CBC branch. ?Furthermore, the Guild is today an organization that strives to better reflect the diversity of its membership.?
Lise served as national president of the Guild for more than a decade before stepping down last year to run as vice president of the union.
The other members nominated by their peers for the award are: Liana Harmon of Toronto, Colin Preston of Vancouver, Bob Sharpe of St. John’s and Jonathan Spence of Toronto.
?We thank all of the nominees for their dedicated service to the Guild and their colleagues,? Marc-Philippe noted. ?We are lucky to have you all among our ranks. People are the union, and it is people just like you that make our union’s work successful.?
