Notice of referendum – Creation of Canadian Region of CWA

All members in good standing of TNG Canada/CWA ? including all dues-paying members of the Canadian Media Guild – will have the opportunity to vote in a referendum which will be held at the end of November.

At its convention in July, the Communication Workers of America adopted a motion to create an autonomous Canadian Region. This means that, although the international union’s day-to-day activities will not change, Canadian locals and members will have more control over how we do union work in this country.

The question to be answered in the referendum is simple: “Do you approve of the creation of an autonomous Canadian Region within the Communications Workers of America (CWA)?”

Keep an eye on your e-mail for further information about this referendum and the voting procedures for CMG members. In the meantime, if you have any questions about the resolution itself, please call the TNG Canada office at 1-877-486-4292. For questions about the voting procedure, contact Keith Maskell (keith@cmg.ca) at the CMG national office.
