PMNA to refund employees who overpaid dental premiums

PMNA will be refunding 57 current and former employees who overpaid dental premiums between January 2015 and December 2017.

While examining benefits information provided to us by the company during negotiations, the union committee noticed that members in the plan had been paying 50% of their dental premiums instead of the 25% set out in the collective agreement. We alerted the company to the error and PMNA corrected the premiums in December on a go-forward basis for current employees. Late last week, we also signed off on an agreement to repay current and former employees the amount they overpaid between 2015 and 2017.

Under the agreement, current employees can expect a deposit for the amount owing to them by April 12. If you are due a payment, you should have received a note from human resources. If you have any questions about what you are owed or if you believe you are owed a repayment and have not received a note from HR, please get in touch with them.

PMNA has committed to reaching out to former employees eligible for a refund and providing a payment to them by the end of June.

If you have any questions or concerns after speaking with HR, please contact CMG Staff Representatives Karen Wirsig (karen@cmg.ca) or Olivier Desharnais-Roy (olivier@cmg.ca) at 416-591-5333.
