Your bargaining team concluded the second full week of bargaining today. We continued conversations around dispute resolution, looking for ways to make the grievance process quicker. New federal workplace anti-harassment legislation is now better reflected in collective agreement language that we will include in a tentative deal. Discussions about Equity, Diversity, Inclusion & Accessibility began this week, to explore how we can do even better to be the most inclusive public broadcaster ever. And further explorations on telework and hybrid teams as a new normal at CBC/SRC were discussed in negotiations this week.
CMG staff rep Marianne Malo Chenard has joined the bargaining team. She was part of the 2014 round of negotiations between CMG and CBC/SRC, and has over 5 years experience working as a staff rep for western and northern CBC/SRC members. Marianne worked for Radio-Canada in Edmonton for more than a decade before that and was Local CMG president then.
We want to hear your viewpoint at our next Town Hall on Thursday, November 9 at 19:00EST. Issues around disability management and non-permanent workers will soon be discussed in negotiations, and we need your input on those matters in particular. If you can’t make it, or at anytime you want to send us your thoughts, the bargaining team can be reached at cbcbargains2024@cmg.ca
