Three full weeks of negotiations have now concluded as we work towards a new collective agreement. As we approach the halfway mark of bargaining, we are looking for some concrete improvements in our collective agreement. Bargaining is now reaching a place that requires a lot of effort to deal with the complexity of these issues, and to find a balance between needs and wants, and financial pressures.
This week began with continued discussions on Telework and Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Accessibility. We then moved on to talk about Non-Permanent Workforce (Temps) and Disability Management concerns. Progress is being made on these files, and will continue during the week of December 4, 2023.
We are holding our next Bargaining Town Hall zoom meeting next Tuesday, November 28 at 21:00 EST. We’ve moved it to a later time on a different night of the week to accommodate members who are in the western part of Canada. Please watch for an email invitation with a zoom link next week.
