Employees in the Operations department of Alliance Atlantis Communications have voted to join the Canadian Media Guild. A certification vote was held by the Canada Industrial Relations Board on December 7 in Toronto.

In all, 88 employees voted; 47 cast ballots in favour of joining the Guild and 41 were against. Voter turnout was 95%.

“We look forward to establishing a good relationship with Alliance Atlantis Communications with the aim of improving working conditions for employees,” said Lise Lareau, national president of the Canadian Media Guild.

The Guild will hold a meeting of all the members in the new bargaining unit early in the new year to discuss the next steps.
