Welcome to our new Toronto CMG website, run by volunteers on the Toronto union committee.

The union committee (local executive committee or LEC) is made up of 14 volunteers who work all over the building, in everything from administration to maintenance to news, and in every platform. We have all kinds of committees you can join from Health and Safety, Diversity and Equity, Grievances, Education, and helping with social events like organizing the incredibly popular holiday party and the BBQs we put on every summer.

We have several joint committees that meet with CBC to improve working conditions: one focuses on helping Temporary and Contract staff (see Jonathan Spence for help with this); and another works on getting alternate work for anyone who is laid off (see Elaine Janes for this).

We also work on celebrating specific events like Black History Month, Asian Heritage Month (May), Aboriginal Day (June) and Pride. If you have ideas you want to share or you want to get involved, please let us know.
