CBC Cuts – see NR report
- Large number for Toronto. To clarify: There were 130 positions that CBC has shed. 27 redundancies handed out April 7, three more for people who were not at work. So 30 CMG cuts in Toronto.
Job Search/ Networking Online Workshop for Redundant Members
- A motion to provide career counselling workshops for our members facing redundancies as soon as possible, at a cost of no more than $1,000. Moved by Krista, seconded by Ines. Motion passes unanimously.
Collective Agreement Distribution
- Mail out / in building distribution plans, need for home addresses ( google form?)
- Motion: for the Toronto LEC to spend up to $2,000 on mail-outs to distribute our collective agreement, and any costs beyond that we will ask the BEC for support. Mover: Lorne, Seconder: Julian Motion passes unanimously.
Ongoing Business
LEC Elections –
- nomination process is now open. Process is different because of Covid. Everything has to be submitted electronically in one email
- A motion to appoint Coleman Jones to the Local Election Committee. Ines moves, Lynne seconds Motion passes unanimously
Holiday Party
- in building gift ideas, mail out to members, Pint House cancelled (no cost), virtual celebration possibility
