1. Adopt Agenda as amended. CARRIED
2. Secretary’s Update: Jordanna Lake asked that the committee Adopt Minutes of Feb 19, 2014 meeting. Moved Kim. CARRIED
• Secretary announced leave of absence – asked for volunteer to take Secretary duties for 2 months effective May.

3. Treasurer’s Report: Anita Adams presented proposed budget and profit and loss details.
Chair proposed that we strike budget sub-committee to finalise a proposed budget. Discussion tabled and sub-committee to finalise budget for approval. Budget Sub Committee volunteers: Anita Adams, Kam Rao, Kim Taylor Galway, Jordanna Lake. To be presented at next meeting.

4. Vice-President’s Report: (absent)

5. Raj Narain presented Toronto Labour Council Campaign.
President asked that the communications committee look into this further as to how to handle a mailout/handout to members in a non- partisan way while promoting membership engagement in the election.

6. President’s report: Submitted in writing.
• Discussion regards involvement of President as Chair in the meeting.
• Kam Rao appointed to chair this discussion. Jordanna Lake asked for Elaine Janes input. Agreed to pick up discussion post lunch.

7. Presentation by Gail Young and Jonathan Spence re EAP How to deal with redundancies in the workplace

1:15 Elaine Janes has joined the meeting.

6. President’s Report continued:
• Rogers employees have been seen in the building. Employees are asking questions but no information has been forthcoming from management. The numbers and timing has not been given.
• President said that the actual numbers of casuals affected by the cancelling of the shows has not been given. Naomi Robinson is trying to get their names.
• Note: April 8th another table in atrium.
• Elaine Janes concerned that Rogers staff may be walking around the building while CBC employees are at work. She says should not happen again without some communication with the department. Naomi Robinson said she will take this on.

10. Vote to elect new LJEC Members – 7 applicants. Last committee had 6 members. Training will be provided for those without experience. President also sits on committee as Chair. LEC to elect 5 LJEC Members and other individuals as alternates with assurance they receive training.
