\n5.\tPresident\u2019s Update: Tony Germin. Jordanna Lake takes the chair.
\nMotion: Proposed by Naomi Robinson That the LEC ask the CBC for a room within the building to be used by CMG. Seconded: Maureen Brosnahan. Carried.
\n\u2022\tNaomi Robinson volunteered to write to National CMG on behalf of LEC for better communication in particular regards the maintenance technicians.
\n\u2022\tVladimir Dimitrijevic volunteered to speak to a staff member for clarification
\n\u2022\tTony will email Carmel Smyth.
\n\u2022\tTony presented a problem about Members travel time being considered down time not overtime. Suggests it should move to the National Committee. Helen Bagshaw offered to go and talk to the manager.

6.\tDirector\u2019s Updates:
\nCommunications: Glen Guerin Moth posters approved by health and safety
\n\u2022\tWebsite: Helen Bagshaw. Glen has asked to be trained in website posting.
\n\u2022\tNaomi Robinson and Helen Bagshaw to look into Gmail for possible CMG email accounts.
\n\u2022\tTony suggested we pay someone to maintain website \u2013 decided we should wait until after the elections
\n\u2022\tThe election committee should send out the ruled to all the local candidates. Also bulletin boards need to be made available for those running.<\/p>\n
Health and Safety: Glen Guerin
\n\u2022\tLooking into autoflush delays on 4th floor bathrooms
\n\u2022\tProblem with filters in make-up rooms. Tony Germin will talk to SNC Lavalin.
\nDiscussion Point: Mike Pattison raised the issue of problems with the HNC rigging in the Front Street Lobby. Tony said he addressed the problem once before. Glen Guerin WPHS Co-Chair indicated a study was done by a qualified Rigging Technician at the request of, and then presented to the Work Place Health and Safety Committee. The Report shows the grid is not “unsafe”. The Sports Department plans to redesign the entire set at the end of this production season with a qualified Structural Engineer supervising. Committee members asked Mike Pattison to contact HRSTC with a query.<\/p>\n

7.\t Chief Stewards Reports:
\nNaomi Robinson: Spoke of workload issues in sports and Permanent P\/t employees. Tony and Jonathan put P\/T issues on the Grievance committee table and asked that local joint Committee produce a contract for every temp employee<\/p>\n

\n SRC Update: Claryse Boulineau: raised issue of positions not being posted
\n Vladimir Dimitrijevic reported on Studio Maintenance techs issue and proceedings of National joint sub-committee<\/p>\n
Discussion on Quality in News at CBC: Naomi Robinson proposed a symposium on journalistic quality for our next AGM. Maureen Brosnahan suggested speakers be brought in. Vladimir Dimitrijevic suggested Technical standards be included. Maureen asked that we give this suggestion to the incoming LEC. <\/p>\n

VP report. Elaine Janes:
\n\u2022\tLocal Joint employment Committee update \u2013 CBC has indicated that layoffs are on going
\n\u2022\tThere is a Member shortage on LJEC committee. Elaine asked if LEC would appoint people to LJEC to help over the next few months. Naomi suggested that we review applicants from March 2012 . She has agreed to review the file. Reconstitute the committee next year.
\n\u2022\tBargaining update<\/p>\n
Treasurer\u2019s Report: Christina Sorensen. Will send records via email. Members asked Treasurer for breakdown on BBQ expenses, Pride Event and Christmas Party as individual reports. <\/p>\n
Motion: To increase the maximum amount to be spent on the Secretary\u2019s new computer to $750.00 including tax. Moved: Naomi Robinson. Motion carried. <\/p>\n
8.\tNew Business
\n\u2022\tTo Form an Election Committee: Committee must be in place in order for candidates to submit their applications for upcoming elections. Helen Bagshaw agrees to become third member of the committee as she is not running again.
\nTherefore the 2013 Election Committee members are: Kenny Delaney, Ralph Legare and Helen Bagshaw<\/p>\n
\u2022\tTreasurer\u2019s Position: MOTION: That the LEC will pay the full amount (up to $150) for Christina Sorensen to pay the freelance CMG membership fees to allow her to continue working on the LEC Accounts. Moved: Mike Pattison Seconded by Naomi Robinson 2 opposed, 2 abstentions. Motion is carried.<\/p>\n
\u2022\tChristmas Party plans: Christina Sorensen still looking for venue. Date is December 5th. Naomi Robinson proposed we move the date. Christina to check on Thurs 12th. <\/p>\n
\u2022\tVladimir DImitrijevic asked that the records show that the LEC will ensure there is adequate accessibility when we are booking events for our members.<\/p>\n
\u2022\tCarmel Smyth and Lise Lareau joined the meeting to announce CMG initiatives to launch Freelance Membership. Dategie Green is managing.
\n\u2022\tJonathan Spence came and spoke to Temp situation and current grievances.<\/p>\n
